Hampshire Open Studios 2025 in Winchester: Colour Factory Studios Celebrates Local Artists

What an Incredible Hampshire Open Studios!

31 years ago, I opened The Colour Factory Studios to create a place where creativity could thrive, artists could share their process, and the community could feel part of something special. This year’s Hampshire Open Studios reminded me exactly why I began.

From 22nd–25th August, our doors were wide open and the building was alive with colour, conversation, and that unmistakable Colour Factory buzz. Visitors explored every corner – from peeking into our working studios to discovering fresh, vibrant works in our re-hung gallery.

The Student Exhibition was a true highlight. Our garden classroom became a celebration of the extraordinary talent of our students – from mixed-media collages and atmospheric oil seascapes to acrylic still lifes, watercolours, and sketchbooks brimming with ideas. Their enthusiasm, curiosity, and laughter make our studios what they are, and seeing their work displayed with such confidence filled me with pride.

Live demos brought even more energy, as our resident artists shared favourite techniques with engaged visitors. The White Space showcased our community projects, and the Final Furlong Fizzbox coffee van kept everyone fuelled and smiling.

To everyone who came – thank you. You made Hampshire Open Studios 2025 unforgettable
