Must-See Print Exhibition: The Art & Craft of Print at Mottisfont

This is definitely a must-see exhibition to visit before it finishes on 1st November!
The Art and Craft of Print at Mottisfont is a wonderful celebration of print, colour and creativity, set within the incredible historic interiors of this very special National Trust property, not far from Winchester.
I was delighted to meet Sue Laws, who curated this beautiful exhibition, and to hear a little more about the ideas and processes behind the work. It's amazing to hear more about how an exhibition is designed and put together, and everything that's involved from curating the actual artwork to choosing the colour of the paint for the walls they are hung on!
A collaboration with St Jude's Prints, the exhibition brings together the work of 30 major printmakers, showcasing an incredible variety of techniques, materials and approaches — from silk screen printing, lino cuts, letterpress and lithography to prints on wallpaper and fabric.
I loved seeing not just the finished artworks, but glimpses into the making process too. There is such a wonderful diversity of work, with so much colour, creativity and inspiration. I wanted to take every piece home!
I particularly loved the work of Chloë Cheese. I've always remembered her wonderful food and recipe illustrations for publications including The Sunday Times, and I'm lucky enough to own one of her prints, which I absolutely love.
I also loved the work of Angie Lewin, Mark Hearld, Clive Hicks, Melvyn Evans and Claire Curtis although there are far too many favourites to mention!
